Wrap Around Care

Early Birds

Early Birds is our breakfast club that is open to all children from Nursery through to Year 6.  The sessions start at 7:30am until 8:45 and costs £2 per pupil.  Early birds offers a happy, safe and welcoming environment to start your child’s school day in the best way possible.  It is led by experienced school staff, who will be familiar to the children as they work in school throughout the day.

There are healthy choices of breakfast cereal and toast as well as yoghurts and fruit.  Children can also choose a range of hot and cold drinks.  The club is set up to encourage children to eat a healthy breakfast, which gives them a great start to their day.

After they have eaten, children go to the games tables where they can play a range of games or join in with art and craft activities.  As well as this, the children can also take part in a range of physical activities outside in the playground.  Adults are also on hand to help with homework, reading and spellings.

If you are interested in using Early Birds, then you need to complete the registration form, which is available from the office.  Once this is completed, you can book and pay for the sessions that you require via our Arbor system.

All sessions must be pre-booked and paid in advance.  If the option to book the required day isn't available, then this means the session is full.  If this is the case, please do not just send your child into school as we will not have the space for them.

Early Bird Rules:

1. All children will be brought to the club by an adult from 7.30 am. Please be aware there is no crossing patrol at this time. It is your responsibility to ensure your child crosses the road safely.

2. All children have the chance to carry out homework or play games or take part in art and craft activities.

3. All children will follow the school’s golden rules of Safe, Engaged and Respectful.  These are key to ensuring that everyone who attends the club has fun whilst eating a healthy breakfast.

Wonderful Woodies

Wonderful Woodies is our After School Club, which is run by our highly trained staff who are teaching assistants during the day across the school.  It provides parents with excellent value, high quality childcare between 3.15pm – 5.45pm every day of the week.

There is an exciting programme of activities in place on different days of the week, which include arts and crafts, computing, board games and puzzles and, weather permitting, activities in the playground.  At different times in the year there are special sessions linked to celebrations and festivals such as Easter, Halloween and Christmas.

During the session, your child will have a light snack such as sandwiches, beans on toast, cheese and crackers etc., along with some healthy options such as fruit and veg sticks and yogurts.  There are also a range of drinks, both hot and cold available.

There are two options available depending on the time required;

  • Option 1 - 3.15pm - 4.30pm - £3.50 (for first sibling) £2.50 (for any other siblings)
  • Option 2 - 3.15pm - 5.45pm - £5.70 (for first sibling) £4.50 (for any other siblings)

If you are interested in using the Wonderful Woodies club, then you need to complete the registration form which is available from the school office.  Following this, the sessions that you require must be booked in advance, at least 24 hours before the session, using the Arbor system.  The club is open to all age groups across the school.

If you need an emergency place and are unable to book 24 hours in advance, please contact the school office. If there are spaces available then they will be able to book them for you.  We cannot guarantee that there will be spaces due to staff ratios.

Please note that if your child is booked into Wonderful Woodies and does not attend, and no cancellation has been received (48 hours in advance), a charge will still be made for the session not attended. If your child is not collected by 5.45pm a late fee of £10.00 for the first hour and £20.00 per hour thereafter will be applied.

There must be no debt owing at the end of every week. If there are any outstanding balances, then your child will not be able to attend the club until the debt is cleared in full.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the school.
