Pupil Premium
Pupil Premium funding is a government initiative that was introduced in 2011. It is intended to improve the outcomes for disadvantaged children and is based upon the number of children entitled to Free School Meals and those in the Care System. Research shows that pupils from deprived backgrounds underachieve compared with their peers. The premium is provided to enable these pupils to be supported to reach their full potential.
As a Learning Academies Trust School, we believe that every child deserves an outstanding education, whatever their starting point or background.
At Woodfield Primary, this means that we have high aspirations and ambitions for our children, and we believe that no child should be disadvantaged or left behind. We strongly believe that it is not about where you come from but your commitment to learning that makes the difference and we are committed to ensuring that our children are given every chance to achieve their full potential.
Our Pupil Premium Strategy outlines how we are using the Pupil Premium grant to provide high quality teaching for all, targeted interventions and other approaches that support their social, emotional and behaviour needs to narrow the attainment gap and achieve.
